Rings
In Historic Armenia, rings were an artisan trade. It was common for towns to have goldsmiths, who worked to create jewelry, such as rings, custom made for the community. Common rural tradition dictated ring exchange did not happen directly from prospective groom to bride, rather, a goldsmith was sent to the houses of the betrothed to create the unique piece of jewelry.
Rings were also symbolism of religious and cultural customs during ceremonies, coming-of-age and change of life events, and were worn by men and women alike. Rings were common symbols of adornment, family history, and memory.
